In the 1980s Glen Rose was also the home of John Graves, author of Goodbye to a River (1960), From a Limestone Ledge (1980), and other books; Graves has often been compared to Henry David Thoreau.

4. There’s a Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas

The nearby Creation Evidence Museum was founded by Carl Baugh, a Young Earth Creationist, after he came to Glen Rose in 1982 to research claims of fossilized human footprints alongside dinosaur footprints in the limestone banks of the Paluxy River.

5. You can also visit Dinosaur World while you’re in Glen Rose.

Park anywhere around the courthouse and walk to the corner of Barnard St. and Elm St. and go 1/4 block west on Barnard St.

While you’re in town, please make a point to stop and visit the Glen Rose Fossil Hunter! Mr. Bussey runs a great shop.
